CULTURAL EXCHANGE - HIGH SCHOOL IN USA
CIEE's USA High School program is an academic year homestay program that enables qualified international High School students to spend a High School semester or year in the USA while living with a pre-arranged host family. It is an educationally based, culturalexchange program, giving th exchange student a unique opportunity to experienrce a different country and lifestyle.
There is no better way to learn about a different culture than to live, study and become a member of a new community abroad.
Eligibility
- Must be between 15 and 18 years old, (must be 15 before entering the United States and may not turn 19 before January of the program year).
- Must have studied English in an academic environment, a school or a language school for a minimum of three years and must not have failed a year of English within the last school year.
- Demonstrate the personal qualities to manage a school year away from home, such as maturity flexibility, open-mindedness, honesty, intergrity and responsibility.
What is included?
- The DS-2019 certificate of eligibility necessary to apply for the J-1 visa.
- Carefully selected school and host family.
- Pre-departure orientation handbook.
- A two night orientaion in New York or San Francisco, including all workshops, meals and sightseeing.
- 24 hour supervision and guidance by a local coordinator in your host community
