Build home for underprivileged family in Thai Binh

Project Summary

Thai Binh is one of agricultural provinces of Vietnam where have many families living in poverty conditions and many families do not have adequate sanitation or safe weather protection, they have to live in unsettled tents in remote areas. Besides, most of these families are suffering from the effects of Agent Orange in American War. At this moment, their health is not enough to do work to make money and bring their children up. More especially, their children are disabled children by effect of the war; these children cannot help their parent to do housework daily, too. Therefore, they need to supports, helps of Social organization and benefactors to overcome difficult condition in living.

Volunteer work in some districts of Thai Binh Province on this project runs alongside these families to build better homes with local, sustainable materials. You will be working on a building project, which aims to renovate and build housing and community facilities in some of the province’s poorest areas and families. Depending on the needs of the project, you could be involved in anything from laying foundations to building homes, decorating homes, repairing roofs to mixing cement. This is a great opportunity to live and work alongside ordinary Thai Binh and help them to build a happier and more prosperous future. This project is far from Hanoi capital about 100 km. You will take on a variety of building tasks under the supervision of trained professionals...

Activities

· You will be working with Vietnamese builders to build homes for poorest families.

· You can prepare materials and equipments to set up a home

· You can joint into activities with local people to understand their cultures and traditions

Working Hours

Typical working time of all builders will be all week between 7.30am and 5.00pm with a 2-hour break for lunch and rest. Besides, the builder will stop their building, in case it is rain or bad weather, too. Some other day you may work in the morning or afternoon only.

Resources

Materials and equipments are very poor.

Resources are adequate but any Building resources you could bring along (equipments and materials, for example) would be very welcome
